About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Academic Coordinator with strong RTO compliance and audit experience to lead academic operations across our vocational programs.

This is a senior, hands-on role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with full responsibility for academic delivery, compliance oversight, and trainer management.

This role is ideal for someone with solid RTO experience who can maintain compliance while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. We welcome applicants who are looking for a flexible part-time arrangement while making a meaningful impact in a growing college.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee academic operations including timetabling, trainer allocation, and course delivery
  • Manage and support trainers and assessors across multiple qualifications (BSB, ICT, CHC, UEE)
  • Ensure compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2015, ESOS Act, and National Code
  • Coordinate assessment validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities
  • Manage training and assessment materials, including unit mapping and updates
  • Monitor student progression and implement intervention strategies where required
  • Prepare documentation for audits and liaise with ASQA and other regulators
  • Report directly to the Managing Director on academic and compliance matters

Requirements

Essential:

  • TAE40122 (or TAE40116 with required upgrades) — mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an RTO academic coordination or management role
  • Strong understanding of RTO compliance and audit requirements
  • Experience managing trainers and resolving operational issues

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with aXcelerate or similar student management systems
  • Experience with CRICOS providers
  • Previous involvement in ASQA audits or regulatory interactions

Working Arrangement

  • Contract role — 3 days per week, on-site in Ultimo
  • Pro-rata salary of approx. $69,000 – $75,000/year (FTE equivalent $115,000 – $125,000)
